Its inspiration began in 2014, when a group of enthusiasts decided to revive the magic of the legendary Dakar Rally tracks in Portugal. Since then, O Nosso Dakar has grown, becoming a tradition and a benchmark, and in 2026 it will reach two historic milestones: its 13th edition and the 20th anniversary of the first Lisbon-Dakar Rally - a tribute to the event that linked Portugal to the myth of the world's greatest off-road adventure.

Unique routes and scenery
Over three days, participants will travel along trails that evoke old Dakar passages in Portugal, crossing the Alentejo and returning to the Algarve, always on routes designed with larger adventure motorcycles in mind. All stages are carefully checked days before the start to ensure safety, fluidity, and the best possible experience.
Enhanced security
The safety of participants is our top priority. After the debut in 2025, all motorcycles will once again be equipped with GPS tracking devices, allowing real-time monitoring of each rider's position, confirmation of stage completion, and activation of emergency alerts whenever necessary. The organisation will also be equipped with satellite communication systems, ensuring a rapid and effective response in any situation. 📡*
Sustainability and best practices
Noise measurement
As in the previous edition, in 2026 all motorcycles will be checked for noise levels. Legal restrictions are becoming increasingly stringent, and therefore motorcycles that do not comply with decibel limits will be excluded. The objective is clear: to raise awareness and take action so that Our Dakar continues to be well received everywhere it goes.

The diversity of participants' origins continues to be a distinctive feature. In addition to the many Portuguese, we have welcomed adventurers from all over the world. From Spain, France, Switzerland, England, Holland, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Austria, Ireland, the USA, Germany, Morocco and Angola. And over the years, names linked to the Dakar itself have joined us — such as Marc Morales, who came third in the 1989 Paris–Dakar — reinforcing the connection between legend and the present day.
