The story of O Nosso Dakar began in 2014, when a group of adventure enthusiasts decided to bring the inspiration of great motorcycle adventures to the trails of Portugal. Since then, the event has grown, evolved and become a tradition that, edition after edition, brings together returning participants, friends and new faces with the same desire to explore, ride and share the experience.
In 2027, we reach our 14th edition. We remain true to the spirit that has been with us from the very beginning, while continuing to discover new trails, new landscapes and new stories to experience together.

Routes and unique scenery
Over three days, participants will ride from the Alentejo to the Algarve and back again, across four stages designed for adventure motorcycles and taking place predominantly off-road. A combination of trails, tracks and varied landscapes will once again put discovery, navigation and the pure enjoyment of riding at the heart of the experience.
All stages are carefully checked in the days leading up to the event, allowing the route to be adapted whenever weather conditions, terrain, safety considerations or other circumstances require it.
Enhanced safety
Participant safety remains one of our main priorities. Every motorcycle will be equipped with an individual GPS tracking device with an emergency alert function, allowing the organisation to monitor participants’ progress throughout the stages and quickly identify situations requiring assistance.
The event also benefits from dedicated medical teams and safety communication systems, including satellite communications, complementing the procedures and resources put in place by the organisation to support participants throughout the three days.*
Sustainability and good practices
Exploring these trails also comes with a responsibility to respect them. In collaboration with the ICNF, O Nosso Dakar has developed a code of conduct that guides the way we travel through these areas, with respect for local communities, wildlife, other trail users and the natural environment.
Please read it before taking part: Code of Conduct – ICNF
Noise control
As in previous editions, all motorcycles will be subject to a noise level check. Motorcycles that do not comply with the participation requirements may not be allowed to start the event.
More than simply a regulatory requirement, this measure aims to reduce the impact of our presence and help ensure that O Nosso Dakar continues to be welcomed by the local communities and throughout the areas we ride through.

The diversity of our participants’ backgrounds continues to be one of the defining features of O Nosso Dakar. Over the years, alongside the many Portuguese riders, we have welcomed participants from across Europe and around the world — from Spain, France, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Romania, Austria, Ireland and Germany, as well as the USA, Morocco and Angola, among other countries.
Over the years, we have also welcomed riders with a special connection to Dakar history, such as Marc Morales, who finished 3rd in the 1989 Paris–Dakar. Different stories, nationalities and experiences all come together in the same place: on the trails and in the unique atmosphere of O Nosso Dakar.
